Do movies, songs, or other forms of artistic expression easily make you cry? Tell us about a recent tear-jerking experience!
I have a reputation for never crying. It takes a really sad experience to bring me to tears, but I can go for years without crying. So you’ve put me on the spot again since I can’t remember the last time I cried.
Oddly enough, recently I put a song in my blog called “Bookends” by Simon and Garfunkel. For some reason when I listen to it, it always causes me to feel teary-eyed. There’s a hymn called “I Will Raise You Up on Eagles Wings” that has the same effect on me. Who knows what it is about certain songs — is the words, memories, or the use of a minor key?
My daughter cries at the drop of a hat — don’t know what we’re so different. She must get it from her dad, who actually has leaky eyes far more often than I do.
